Lathe 2017
1/8/17 Documents that came with the lathe:
Canadian Price list as of December 1, 1943
"These prices include exchange on American money at the current rate, duty, sales tax and war tax. All prices conform to the 1942 U. S. Emergency Price Control Act and are F.O.B. factory, Kalamazoo 130, Michigan. U. S. A.")
Atlas Catalog pages 4-24 (sorry the two outer pages are missing on the copy I got with the lathe, so I think it only covers part of the attachments for 6 inch lathes)
Threading Information Atlas Six-Inch Lathes
1/12/17 Been soaking and wiping lathe with oil, Things are beginning to loosen up and getting cleaner. Got chuck off cleaned and back on with out much turning force. The two carriage assembly slides moving smoothly missing a few lock nuts and may get Allen screws to replace old set screws
1/12/17 made and installed 4 wood plug sets to repair the table top and plug holes made for rubber shock mounts and allow the motor to be mounted so the motor pully is more towards the lathe to give the belt a bit of an angle.
1/11/17 two types of belts are here for the Atlas 618, I was going to start with the link belt and then try to bond the urathane belt in place to see if it is smoother. But before that I think I need to plug some holes in my table top to relocate the motor more to the lathe head stock then it is now.
